Non-Alcoholic Beer Is Gaining Ground on Menus

Non-alcoholic beer is expanding its presence on restaurant menus, according to Datassential’s State of the Adult Beverage Menu 2026 report.
Athletic Brewing Co, a non-alcoholic beer brand, appears on 10.7% of restaurant menus that serve beer, up 43% year-over-year. Heineken 0.0, Heineken’s non-alcoholic offering, appears on 6.4% of beer menus, up 36%. Both brands are part of a wider no and low alcohol trend, reflecting what the report describes as “a broad consumer shift toward moderation that operators can no longer afford to ignore.”
Datassential’s research points in the same direction. Nearly half of U.S. drinkers — 47% — said alcohol was less appealing to them than in previous years, and one in three said they were drinking less often year-over-year, according to the firm’s SIP 2025: Alcohol Usage & Shifts report.
Datassential Menu Trends data shows non-alcoholic beer appears on 21.4% of all U.S. restaurant menus, up 28% over the past four years, with penetration predicted to rise another 16%. For menus that offer beer, non-alcoholic beer is most concentrated in fine dining and casual dining, which lead all segments in menu penetration at 51.4% and 45.1% respectively.

The menu growth comes despite relatively low consumer trial. Awareness of non-alcoholic beer stands at 79%, but only 27% of consumers have tried it. Overall, 13% of consumers love or like non-alcoholic beer — but that figure jumps to 44% among those who have actually tried it, according to Datassential’s Consumer Preferences data.
Younger consumers show stronger affinity for non-alcoholic beer than the overall average. Gen Z leads at 16%, followed closely by Millennials at 15% — both above the 13% overall average — while Boomers trail at 9%.
